The work schedule for this position is:
Full Time (40 hours per week)
Start Date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4-6 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

The Mailroom Clerk receives, dispatches, sorts, and distributes mail from multiple sources. These include but are not limited to local and international mail, diplomatic pouch material, and commercial courier services. The incumbent spends a large percentage of the time serving customers at the Mailroom service window. The incumbent is supervised by the Mailroom Supervisor with overall supervision by a designated Information Programs Center employee.

Qualifications and Evaluations
EXPERIENCE: One year of experience in customer care, office assistance, or clerical work is required. Please describe your previous and current job responsibilities in detail. Also mention your Supervisory experience in detail, if applicable for this position.

Education Requirements:
Successful completion of high school (Class X) or local equivalent is required. Please specify the name of the Certificate/Degree/Diploma course and the major subjects for each qualification you possess.
LANGUAGE: Good working knowledge (Speaking, reading and writing) of English is required. Fluency (Speaking and reading) of Hindi is required and limited knowledge (Speaking and reading) of Marathi is required. This may be tested. Please specify in your application your level of proficiency in each language listed here.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to lift 70 pounds and safely move up to 250 pounds with assistance from coworkers or use of mechanical devices.

Agency Benefits:
Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Mumbai may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
