Description

Legal Response Operations (LRO) is a global organization that operates as a critical partner to Asset Management, Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Bank and works closely with internal partners throughout CCB. Our employees embrace the Five Keys to a Great Customer Experience.

LRO consists of the following functions:

Confirmations
Court Orders and Levies
Custody Services
National Subpoena Processing

Confirmations provides specific account information to third-party requestors that confirm the customer’s bank relationship and verifies deposits or account balances.

Assist Customers with satisfying annual SEC 10-K filings for audits (Investment Bank, Treasury products, etc)
Obtain government welfare benefits
Mortgage Loans
Credit Lines with suppliers

Primary Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision makes independent decisions on typical transactions and or legal request based on specialized functional/technical knowledge and broader legal knowledge.
Handles complex request types under little supervision
Completes audit/documents indexing
Liaise with key stakeholders and subject matter experts including: Compliance, Investment Bank, Treasury Services, Consumer Bank and Technology for various business and functional tasks
Excellent business writing and verbal English communication skills
Proficient in MS office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook).
Strong control and quality management skills; accuracy and attention to detail is vital.
Action and perform root cause analyses on new / recurring issues or control gaps
Assertive and self-confident, comfortable when interacting with senior management.
Exercise some judgment but may require guidance from a senior staff for complex audit requests and or legal request.
Communicate with Business Partners to facilitate resolution of outstanding cases/issues.
Refer problem / Identify issues on assigned work type and escalate occurrences to team leader or supervisor.
Assist in data collection / report preparation on various metrics.
Responsible for routine decisions and determination of course of action.
Ensure continuity of the process and SLAs assigned through proper back up’s, follow up’s and communication.
Able to evaluate and analyze data from multiple sources in a fast-paced environment
Adapt to changing needs & deadlines and remain calm when under pressure
Performs non std & advance research in various systems (‘a/c not found’, ‘exceptions review’ etc.)
Identifies & escalates exceptions – Managing escalations across all queues and products (Derivatives, Custody, Treasury, Prime Brokerage, Fixed Income, Mortgage Loans, Credit Lines, etc)
Handles ‘escalations’ received in the generic mailbox
Responsible for reviewing and routing the exceptions to the relevant group
Communicates with onsite SME’s for day-to-day operations
Candidate should possess strong knowledge of Banking operations preferably in the Confirmations space with the products being serviced.
Leadership skills to motivate and bind a team
Adaptable to change and ability to manage change
Interact with business users including management and translate business requirements into technical solutions
Excellent coaching and good presentation skills.
Participate and/or run team and group meetings
Ideal Personality Traits: Excellent people, communication, analytical and writing skills; penchant for innovation.

Qualifications

This individual will have extensive contact with front office, middle office and back office, clients, accounting firms, global teams, custodians and other business partners on a daily basis. Key skills required are listed below:

In-depth knowledge with OTC, Treasury, Loan products and global markets is an added advantage.

Any Bachelor Degree. Commerce/Accounting preferred.

Pre-Requisite:

The role requires understanding of the Audit Confirmations. Hence prior knowledge of Confirmations and Product knowledge is an added advantage
Banking operations or financial service industry experience is preferred. Experience in legal field is an added advantage.

Hours of Work / Shift Timings in India –

Employees will be required to work based on US production schedules or pre U.S time shifts, depending on business requirements. Work shifts will include working as per US calendar and holidays & as per overall policies.

Work Days: Monday to Friday (5 day working) and during Jan to April Saturday will be leveraged
