POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: 3D BIM Modeler BUSINESS UNIT: Geospatial Services MANAGER: Reality Capture Manager EXECUTIVE: VP Geospatial Services REPORTS: None STATUS: Full-time, non-exempt ABOUT THE POSITION: Sewall is seeking a 3D Revit/AutoCAD Civil3D Modeler to work on our active and growing Remote Sensing and 3D Data Services Team. The 3D Modeler will work in a team-oriented environment designing and drafting 3D models of storage tanks, bridges, substations, building exteriors, and building interiors as well as their related systems from point cloud data or conceptual design plans. Ideally, the candidate will have experience managing BIM and related projects from start-to-finish and will be able to expand this service offering through business development efforts. We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable working with minimal supervision and can interact with other engineering personnel and 3rd party contractors or clients. QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years’ working experience in a production environment associated with computer-based modeling
5+ years of recent, progressive, and practical Revit experience
2+ years using Trimble Business Center and Trimble Realworks or equivalent point cloud modeling software
2+ years using SketchUp
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D
Experience working with point cloud data in a structural modeling environment
Experience modeling vertical storage tanks, pipe plant installations, mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP), etc.
Associates degree or higher in 3D Modeling, Drafting, Structural Engineering or related field

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Create Revit families and CAD blocks

Accurately estimate BIM project task labor demands and timelines
Ability to work with, classify, and extract data from point cloud datasets
Draw and detail plans for tanks, bridges, buildings, structural systems, and associated components as a Building

Information Model (BIM) within a Revit software environment

Provide CAD drafting/design support on an as-needed basis
Provide an accurate projection of time needed to complete specific tasks while also accurately tracking time

spent on project assignments

Willingness to be cross trained in different software and market areas
Coordinate with and consult with team members to design, layout, or detail components and structural systems
Demonstrated ability to develop learning material, deliver effective training and provide training to other Sewall

project stakeholders

Works safely and promotes safety within the work environment. This includes good posture at workstation; is

proactive in getting needed assistance to maintain an ergonomically correct workstation.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

Competency modeling from LiDAR and point cloud datasets using REVIT, Sketchup, and Civil3D/Recap platforms
Familiarity with building structural components and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems (MEP)
Ability to complete tasks efficiently, working effectively with general instructions and proper supervision
Ability to apply strong interpersonal skills with the project team to effectively communicate project details

Ability to stay focused on daily tasks

Experience in Engineering, Surveying, and/or Architectural discipline(s)
Knowledge and understanding of land surveying techniques and remote sensing technologies
General knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to sit at a computer workstation (2D and 3D) for extended periods of time on a daily basis. The
continuous use of a keyboard and mouse throughout each day will be necessary

Must be able to work in an open office environment or, at times, remotely with little to no supervision

Remote position after a 2-week orientation period in our Bangor, Maine office.
