DescriptionArchitectural Planner Job PostCreech & Associates is searching for an Architectural Planner to join our team in the Charlotte Studio. Creech & Associates is an architectural firm that works on civic, municipal, higher education and adaptive reuse projects throughout the southeast. We are well known for our architecture, interior design, strategic planning, facilities assessments and master planning. Our ideal employee would have the following experience and skills but not a requirement:
Experience with planning, designing, engineering, and reviewing building layouts
Experience providing master planning and facilities consulting services
Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
Conducts field evaluations and assessments
Conducts research for conformance with codes, plans, and regulations
Assists in design layouts which require researching, compiling, drafting, and creation of graphic packages for assigned projects
Ability to recommend flow and space configurations, outfitting considering physical facility needs
Develops planning studies and reports in support of new and updated programs and plans
Reviews or assists in the review of moderately difficult development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans, and regulations
Prepare and present detailed reports on the development of our findings
Collects a variety of statistical data and prepare reports on topics such as census information, land use, and growth predictions
Coordinates charettes for community involvement
Provides information to the advisory committees regarding development of the programs
Assists in staff interviews
Oversees the work of consultants
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design or Planning
Typical knowledge:
Knowledge of the principles and practices of planning
Knowledge of a relevant specialization such as land use/zoning, space planning and programming is desired
Knowledge of principles and practices of research and data collection
Knowledge of effective writing techniques
Knowledge of computer programs and applications, which may include Microsoft Office, Internet applications, and database management
GIS programs and applications
Typical Skills:
Oral communication and people skills to explain procedures clearly
Creative critical thinking skills to gather relevant information to solve practical problems and address concerns
Ability to review plans, apply provisions, and determine compliance with field conditions
Ability to create graphic designs, development strategies, and render plans via sketches and/or computer graphics highly desirable.
Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously
Ability to work independently or in a team environment as needed
Ability to attend to details while keeping big-picture goals in mind
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Full time employment benefits:Fulltime employees are eligible for health insurance, basic life insurance and long-term disability as well as a 401k plan. Staff receives 9 paid company days off per year and an accrual PTO program starting at 15 days per calendar year. Plus, year-round half day Fridays!
