General Description: Develop MICE channel nationally, leveraging both incentive houses and direct partnerships
Essential Job Functions:
Create and Deliver Fun and Escapism
Develop and execute an account strategy to drive revenue within Florida and key markets outside of Florida, developing MICE and direct partnerships for MVAS. This role is national in scope.
Establish MVAS presence within the MICE channel, leveraging existing relationships to develop meeting and incentive business, large group business, and qualified charter leads.
Establish partnerships with large, high-volume outlets (sports teams, grocery chains, car dealerships, etc.) and closed-audience groups (apartment communities, condo associations, hospitals, business associations, etc.), either through partners or direct, to drive business to key MVAS programs including the ‘Customer Cruise Rewards’ bulk certificate program as well as the ‘Closed Audience’ rate program.
Maintain existing and new partnerships across the channel, including sales calls/presentations to accounts, participation in webinars and events, and other activities as required.
Participate in global meetings, events, conferences, and shows relative to the MICE and direct partnership channels.
Host and provide presentations, webinars, shipboard visits, and seminars at sea for a variety of audiences to drive brand awareness and volume. Tailor presentation to the audience as necessary.
Meet and exceed established sales goals.
Develop and maintain strong and effective long-term relationships that are consistent and continue to grow within company objectives.
Exhibit a ‘foot-forward’ approach to sales with the ability to listen keenly and provide solutions for customers.
Liaise with sales leadership to plan and oversee marketing initiatives and sales plans with partners.
Other activities as required.
Education Requirements, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Bachelor’s degree preferred
5+ years of relationship-sales experience including a track record of revenue growth
Must have established a portfolio across the MICE channel.
Strong knowledge of MVAS products, key selling points, charter processes, and marketing capabilities.
Must be fully equipped to work with Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Must have knowledge and experience using web-based presentation tools such as Teams, Zoom, WebEx, and Go to Webinar.
Strong organizational and communication skills including public speaking.
Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and operate in a fast-changing environment.
Must possess planning, budgeting, business management, and analytical/forecasting skills
Must be able to thoughtfully discuss a business plan with customers.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, both verbal and written.
Candidate will be expected to ‘hit the ground running, leveraging existing relationships to drive both short- and long-term revenue, with a strong emphasis on midweek sailings, driving new MICE relationships and groups.
Must exhibit sufficiently strong presentation skills to inspire an audience to learn more about and sell the product. Note: The candidate will be expected to prepare and deliver a short, 5-minute presentation, on a topic of his/her choice, should he or she be offered a second interview.
Keen negotiation skills are required for this role. The candidate must be sufficiently aware of all tools at his/her disposal and be imaginative with implementing tools to win business.
Candidate must exhibit the ability to manage relationships not only with accounts but across all departments within the Margaritaville at Sea organization.
Must be willing to travel frequently and work nights and weekends
Self-starter, team player, and able to work independently.
Must possess planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business management skills
Must have a car and possess a valid driver’s license and passport.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 – $72,000.00 per year
