Jacksonville University seeks an innovative executive and visionary to provide leadership and support to the division of Legal & Compliance with a focus on leading Office of People and Culture.
Reporting to the SVP of Legal, Compliance, and People & Culture, the Assistant Vice President of People & Culture and Compliance is a collaborative leader who will provide strategic direction and oversight to support faculty and staff human resource delivery practices with a focus on risk management, compliance, Title IX and regulatory matters.Job Objectives
Manage, lead, and inspire the OPC staff
Collaborates with the Cabinet to serve as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator
Collaborate with the Office of Finance to manage insurance, risk assessment and regulatory matters
Maintain broad knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment and selection; training; compensation; benefits; labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
Manage and implement training modules for employee compliance, including but not limited to title IX, EEO, OSHA, ADA, and EPA, HIPAA
Promote and foster a culture committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging and ensure policies and procedures align with the campus mission and strategic plan
Manage and update investigation procedures in alignment with regulatory policies
Manage and maintain an up-to-date compliance calendar and ensuring all notices and filings related to employee benefits, Medicare notices, OSHA filing, PCORI fees, etc. are compliant and in alignment with state and federal regulations
Provides consultant services to VPs, directors, managers, deans and campus supervisors for a broad range of general employee management matters, policy, ensuring legal compliance and consistent practices, authorizing, and developing disciplinary actions, and leading termination meetings, medical leave, and accommodation requests
Coordinate annual performance evaluation, goal setting processes, and compensation practices, cross-functional projects that further the HR mission and supports campus initiatives. Assists with strategic compensation initiatives and implementation of related programs
Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining a complex compensation plan
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Communications, Human Relations, or a related field.
Master’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Communications, Human Relations, or a related field, or related experience
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience leading cross-functional teams and complex projects or programs.
Demonstrated experience hiring, training, developing, scheduling, supervising, and managing the work performance of others
Strategic thinker experienced with process improvement, oversight of high-impact program operations, and policy development in Human Resources or a related field.
Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the global, racial, socioeconomic, academic, and cultural diversity within the community college student and employee population.
Ability to be dynamic and forward-thinking, possess a collaborative leadership style, and have a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or PMP certification.
