L3Harris is searching for a talented functional Group Lead to join the Senior Department Staff for the L3Harris Mission Networks Security & Sys Admin Engineering Department.
Supervisor for functional group of 5-10 employees
Build strong relationships with every direct report in your group.
Lead annual and mid-year performance cycle for direct reports including soliciting program feedback, rating employee performance, writing employee performance evaluations, giving feedback to employees, nominating employees for promotions, and completing all HR due dates on time in the Oracle HCM tool.
Praise employees verbally and via Rise Awards as needed.
Coach struggling employees with EM and HR as needed to ensure they are meeting program and behavioral expectations.
Timecard approver for group to ensure your and their timely completion of daily timecards and weekend timecard submittals. Coach employees who do not meet company policies.
Ensure your entire group’s quarterly compliance training is completed within two weeks of assignment.
Assign an alternate GL to cover your group while you are on PTO. Email your employees with your out of office dates plus backfill name.
Attend Senior Dept Staff meetings every other week.
Hold group meetings at lunch time every other month.
Flow down appropriate MN engineering information to your groups every month by email and/or at your group meetings.
Work department action items with other GLs on company initiatives – eg, employee engagement.
Think out of the box and plan one fun group activity every quarter outside of work for team building.
Responsible for staffing to include reviewing resumes, conducting interviews as needed, attending interview debrief sessions, and onboarding new hires.
Ensure you are hiring diverse candidates (Women & POC) per L3H guidelines.
Conduct 1:1 conversation with your employees if they need an assignment changes or are bored. Flow up information to EM.
Notify your EM ASAP if you have any developing flight risks.
Flow up process improvement suggestions from your employees to improve the work culture, morale, and employee well-being.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT or related field, and minimum 2 years related experience.
Phenomenal people skills and emotional intelligence.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Excellent coach & mentor to direct reports.
Genuinely cares about people, their well-being and career development.
Ability to obtain and maintain a FAA public trust clearance.
