JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for creating and updating reports, replacing computer equipment, helping to plan upgrades, installing and relocating computer hardware, repairing computer hardware, installing applications, performing general computer or system maintenance, and developing and maintaining applications that benefit the agency.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Conducts successful inquiries into various databases and other appropriate information/records systems to retrieve the requested information in accordance with agency policy.
Coordinates the assignment of appropriate staff based on the specific needs of the requesting entity and the qualifications/expertise/capabilities of the available staff.
Determines the useful life of the equipment and will use this information to conduct a cost analysis to determine whether faulty equipment should be replaced or repaired.
Makes a viable recommendation based, as applicable, on the anticipated cost of the repair, the estimated life of the equipment remaining, the cost of new equipment to replace the defective, available resources, state of the art status if appropriate, and any other relevant factor.
Provides Help Desk support, as needed.
Locates, tabulates, and accurately compiles statistical data in a timely manner and submits the edited statistical report to the appropriate personnel as requested.
Researches, organizes, summarizes, and assembles requested information/documentation from various files and sources, forwarding the completed work product to the appropriate personnel/authority in a timely manner pursuant to agency policies and any applicable state statutes.
Reviews all applicable files, reports, documents, and correspondence to ensure that they are complete and accurate and will correct or effect the correction of any discrepancies or missing information in a timely manner and, as applicable, in accordance with applicable requirements, agency policies/procedures and local, state, and federal laws, rules and/or regulations.
Researches and recommends computer purchases and/or plans effective hardware installations compatible with the need of the organization, for their respective area of responsibility, in accordance with agency policies.
Install, relocate, and/or configure hardware and peripherals for servers, workstations, and print – servers pursuant to the manufacturer’s specifications and in accordance with agency policy.
Identifies and resolves hardware malfunctions by either repairing hardware in a timely manner or sending hardware to the service provider in accordance with agency policy.
Establishes and updates as necessary computer equipment maintenance files pursuant to manufacturer’s specifications and in accordance with agency policy.
Determines, evaluates, and recommends the purchase of software/hardware applications and/or equipment based on the need, purpose, cost, infrastructure compatibility, and functional requirement consistent with agency policy
Installs software applications including but not limited to third party emulation software, proprietary software, and other agency-specific software pursuant to licensor’s specifications, making any required modifications to optimize performance and functionality, in accordance with agency policy.
Obtains or develops effective computer-related training materials and provides effective instruction to facility personnel as required in accordance with agency policies.
Programs or modifies various computer systems or features to update or maintain the optimum functionality of the system in accordance with agency policy.
Updates in a timely manner computer workstation and software pursuant to manufacturer’s/vendor’s specifications.
Oversees, develops, or modifies reliable and functional computer application programs within the specified timeframe utilizing the appropriate development tools and environment.
Codes, tests, evaluates, and/or debugs new and/or revised computer applications to ensure that they are functioning as required and that they fully meet the specifications as designed; deficiencies are promptly corrected and re-tested as appropriate.
Prepares flow charts and program documentation for each computer application as appropriate, ensuring that all documentation is complete, accurate, and comprehensive to facilitate future revisions, enhancements, and maintenance of the application.
Coordinates application enhancements and/or fixes involving software applications purchased from external vendors.
Relays complete and accurate information to the vendor to facilitate the proper revisions, and follow-up contact is initiated with the vendor as necessary to ensure timely completion within the specified timeframes.
Coordinates all aspects of implementing new systems as appropriate, including design, coding, installation, testing, documenting procedures, and training end-users, ensuring that all phases are completed according to system specifications and design.
Provides appropriate assistance to staff programmers and users regarding their particular area of expertise upon request or as needed/required.
Given an authorized records request for information, locates, copies, and furnishes the individual or agency with accurate information in a timely manner and in accordance with agency policy.
Research, compile and submit all available pertinent documentation, data, and information as per authorized request.
Responds to supervision, guidance, direction, and feedback of superiors in a receptive manner and in accordance with agency policies.
Follows all leave and attendance-related policies/procedures, including, but not limited to arriving on time, working the entire shift, submission of vacation and personnel requests, notification of supervisor regarding absence from work due to illness or untimely incidents, and notification of supervisor concerning overtime hours worked.
Demonstrates a polite, helpful, courteous, and professional image when engaged in any activity with the public.
Checks their assigned mailbox, telephone/electronic messages (email), responding to messages in a prompt and professional manner.
Operates and cares for equipment to manufacturers’ specifications and/or within the specified parameters and in accordance with agency policies.
Demonstrates an understanding, consideration, and respect of cultural, religious, and gender differences when interacting with the public and colleagues.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education, Experience, and Requirements:
Associate degree with coursework in Object Oriented Programming Languages or six (6) months of relevant work experience required.
Familiarity with the following languages: C#, ASP.Net, and JavaScript and the Microsoft Visual Studio development environment
Familiarity with T-SQL scripting and the use of Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio
Knowledge of business intelligence software and reporting software such as Tableau and Crystal Reports.
Certification, Licenses, and Registrations Requirements:
Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Security Certification Required within six (6) months of employment
