Position Summary:
Cambridge College of Healthcare & Technology is seeking an outstanding Instructor for our Medical Lab Technician Program. The successful candidate will report to the Campus Dean.
The Medical Lab Technician instructor teaches theory and lab to prepare students for employment as entry level Medical Lab Technicians. This person evaluates student progress through observation and testing, and maintains student records of attendance and grades. The Medical Lab Technician instructor works within the framework of curriculum developed by the teaching facility and will be responsible for the overall success of the program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to physically demonstrate hands-on skills as needed to pass certification exam
Ability to teach critical thinking and healthcare theory as needed to pass state certification exam
Ability to identify students who are having difficulty with the material and provide a different learning approach to help them better comprehend the material
Ability to train the students in technical skills as a Medical Lab Technician
The instructor teaches safety and emergency procedures, and how to work safely in a lab environment
Ability to follow a pre-existing lesson plan
Ability to create their own lesson plan as the needs of the program/individual classes evolve
Technically savvy (ability to learn new technology and implement its use within a reasonable amount of time)
Schedule of Classes: Monday – Thursday – Day hours

Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:

Credentialed by a nationally recognized and accredited agency as a medical laboratory technologist or technician;
Hold at a minimum a associate’s degree; bachelor’s preferred and
Have at least two years of practical experience in the subject area.
Teaching experience preferred.
