POSITION SUMMARY
The HM&E Training Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, delivery, and management of the HM&E Training Documentation for the OPC program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.

Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Develop Factory Acceptance Training (FAT) and submit for USCG approval.
Develop and execute the curriculum for Familiarization (FAM) Training.
Satisfy all Training responsibilities as defined by the Contract.
Conduct, oversee, and manage training sessions.
Develop evaluation and reporting criteria to measure training effectiveness.
Measure and plan timelines and benchmarks for training material development.
Interface with Sr Training Manager to ensure training needs are understood.
Support Human System Integration (HSI) and Human Factors Engineering (HFE) testing
Interface with departments within ESG to maintain the HSI Issues Decision Database (IDD) and Hazard Tracking System (HTS)
Interface with departments within ESG, subcontract vendors, and the US Coast Guard during the System Safety Working Group (SSWG)
Perform other duties as instructed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Will directly or indirectly supervise employees assigned to the OPC Dept. who will serve as ESG Instructors for the USCG on OPC. HM&E Training Manager will directly liaison with USCG officers and enlisted personnel daily. Travel is primarily local, although quarterly out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
Job Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of experience in the marine industry with prior training experience desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. USCG or USN Shipboard Training Team, Damage Control Training Team, Navy Electronics Engineering Training, or Marine Engineering desired. Multiple operational afloat tours are desired. Formal Military Instructor credentials and current compliance with USCG regulation are a plus.
Skills:
Intermediate level Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional documents, Company policies/procedures, and governmental regulations. Must have accurate written and verbal communication skills to carry out and understand assignments, and/or convey or exchange routine information. Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data.
Behavioral Attributes:
Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance. Integrity, flexibility/adaptability, initiative, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking. Maintain the confidential integrity of details about Eastern Shipbuilding Group.
