Description :
Job Title: Payroll CoordinatorDepartment: Administration
Job Purpose: The Payroll Coordinator will oversee the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. To ensure associates receive their semi-monthly pay correctly and on time.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
2. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates
3. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions
4. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
5. Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure secure handling, transmitting, and storing of information.
6. Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
7. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures
8. Process other financial compensation or deductions (e.g. annual bonuses, severance, taxes, workers compensation, etc.)
9. Answer employee questions or complaints about salaries and payments.
10. Coordinate payroll activities with those of other departments, staff, and outside agencies; collaborate with human resources staff regarding a variety of human resources and payroll issues; identify payroll requirements when new pay policies, pay systems, and benefits are implemented.
11. Update data with salary or wage adjustments.
12. Reconcile, report, and remit payroll liabilities
13. Oversee payments and distributions of payroll checks
14. Other duties as assigned.
Job Skills:
1. Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes
2. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

4. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
5. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
6. Proficient with payroll software.
7. Strong interpersonal skill. Strong communication.
