Description :
The PLANT MANAGER of Biodiesel Las América’s (“BDLA”) “) with high level of technical support within the process, operations and product quality. On-site engineers will provide adjustments to the process and evaluate the performance of the operation. Directly supervises four (4) shifts Supervisors.
Responsible for providing (“BDLA”) is responsible for the safe and continuous operation of the plant during the 4 shifts of 8 hours 7 days a week. The plant is operational twenty-four (24) hours a day / seven (7) days a week. It will replace the temporary or permanent absence of the shifts leader. The Plant Manager is responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operation of the Refinery and is instrumental in establishing and promoting a culture focused on safe, environmentally compliant, and reliable operations. In addition, this role evaluates plant performance, implements recommendations for reliability improvements and cost optimization, and champions initiatives supporting the long-term sustainable profitability of the Refinery.
Key and Responsibilities:
§ Participate in design, construction, and start-up activities for new processes and equipment.
§ Safe operation of the plant during his shift.
Participate and understand in the programs of Quality, Safety, Industrial Health and Environment (“QSHE”).
Ensure that all activities under his supervision comply with the QSHE programs.
Supervise and ensure daily report of the production of the plant.
Receive at 7am the reports of the three previous shifts.
§ Discuss reports with the Commercial Manager, Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Manager and the CEO early morning.
Optimize production, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining established quality standards.
Be responsible for production, product quality and on-time delivery.
Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize the assets to produce optimal results.
Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
Maintain the schedule of the employees of the plant updated.
Commit to the safety procedures of the plant.
Develop systems and processes that follow and optimize productivity, standards, and performance objectives to ensure the effective performance of assets.
Stay updated with the best practices and production management concepts.
Represent the BLA operations group in the functions / leadership meetings of the facilities.
Solve the causes of customer problems and collaborate with other functions as necessary to provide efficient and effective resolution.
Monitor the process / reports and historical trends.
Monitor the efficiency of operations.
Understand mechanical concepts and processes easily.
Develop new solutions to problems.
Provide on-call assistance and tactical guidance for abnormal operations.
Provide onsite leadership during operational incidents as required per site Emergency Response guidelines.
Manage supervisory operations personnel, including motivating, training, and consulting the team. Manage departmental appraisal process
Mentor and guide direct and indirect reports to maximize performance in current roles and prepare individuals for future positions, ensuring a reliable and competent workforce.
Optimize staffing levels to provide operational support consistent with production and complexity.
Have the skills to identify the source of the problem and create and test solutions.
Manage time, supplies, staff and funds.
Calibration and evaluation of instrumentation.
Supervise the registration of witnesses.
Participate and understand the Safety, Industrial Health and Environment programs.
Direct, maintain and enforce security programs.
Ensure that the regulation of the city, county, and state are met at all times.
Help identify security risks and regulatory compliance problems.
Skills and qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required. Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or Engineering degree with emphasis on fuels preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with refinery process applications or a closely related industrial setting. (Biodiesel)
Possess strong knowledge of refining process equipment, including environmental regulations and requirements pertinent to refinery operations, and ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and remain focused and organized with the ability to effectively delegate responsibility and manage the work activities of others.
Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, contractors/consultants, and agency representatives.
Ability to be decisive and make decisions to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Must have excellent computer skills as demonstrated by compiling and presenting information and data utilizing Microsoft Office.
Significant operations role to include project or program management, production control, and team supervision.
Proven track record in leading and managing refinery-wide change initiatives.
Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills by leading direct reports and other Kern staff, contributing to positive results on joint projects.
Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain credibility across all levels in the business.

Pay: $71,869.00 – $94,566.00 per year
