position : Shop Helper/Driver
Assist workers engaged in fabrication of structural or sheet metal products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ensure safe working environment by keeping floors and aisles clean of debris, trash, loose cords, and trip hazards.
Housekeeping, taking out all trash and recyclables daily and sweeping floors and cleaning up spills as needed.
Deliver pickup and offload materials as needed.
Receive vendor shipments and verifying goods shipped against delivery tickets and purchase orders.
Place received goods in designated areas based on job number.
Assist in fabrication (cut, thread and bundle pipe) as needed.
Assist in loading trailers and trucks for delivery of fabrication as needed.
Assist in performing equipment and vehicle inspections.
Act as spotter for cranes, lulls and lifts as needed.
Actively participate in daily safety meetings and attend additional training sessions as required.
Maintain shop restroom facilities and offices on a regularly scheduled basis.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must have a current driver’s license and a driving record that meets company minimum requirements.
