A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A STAFF GOVERNMENTAL AUDITOR

As an accounting professional at our CPA firm, you will play a key role in performing and completing procedures on audit programs and preparing work papers to support tasks performed. Under direct supervision, you will communicate with clients including governmental entities, public housing authorities and other organizations. You will compare data contained in a variety of financial records in order to detect trends, errors, anomalies or problems. You will make recommendations for improving internal controls. You will complete required schedules, account analyses, worksheets, and projects. You will prepare and present written and oral reports. You will perform other accounting and auditing duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by your supervisor. All your work will be accomplished while ensuring the confidentiality of our firm and clients.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A STAFF GOVERNMENTAL AUDITOR

Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Working on or have completed requirements for CPA license
Preferably 1-3 years of experience in auditing
Understand the basic principles, practices, methods and theories of auditing standards and accounting standards
Basic knowledge of laws, ordinances, regulations and statutes which govern audit functions
Basic knowledge of GASB, Yellow-Book and Uniform Guidance Standards a plus

Do you have strong communication and teamwork skills? Are you proficient with current accounting software and Microsoft Office products? Are you willing to travel locally and nationally for engagements? If so, you might just be perfect for this accounting position at our CPA firm!
